FREEZE

The factor that almost always unites works created even several centuries apart is their intrinsic power to bring to the listener’s ear a snapshot of the historical period and the moods experienced by those who wrote them.

The composers included in this album lived and worked in four very distinct eras, some even unaware of the existence of the others. It is therefore up to those who today take on the responsibility of performing their pieces to re-propose all those moments that, through notes and breaths, have remained deliberately frozen in a time before our own.
