“Springtime”, 4th Cd project of I&K piano duo, recorded in 2019 at Konzerthaus in Vienna.

The program is based on one of the great works in the history of music, the Rite of Spring, which Stravinsky originally wrote for piano duo and premiered with Debussy before composing the symphonic version. The Cd is completed with exquisite pieces by Debussy and Ravel for piano four hands making the listening an unique experience.

I&K performs The Rite of Spring by Stravinsky, the same version that Stravinsky premiered with his friend Debussy in a private recital for a group of friends before writing the orchestral version. The repertoire of the CD is magnificently surrounded by pieces of Debussy, Saint- Saëns, and Ravel, who enjoyed the première of that incredible piece at the newly constructed Théâtre des Champs-Elysées on 29th May 1913. This date would go down in history as one of the greatest musical scandals of all time. Saint-Saëns left the hall outraged, Debussy asked the most reluctant to listen to the music, and Ravel exclaimed: Genius, genius!”.
